In the meantime, there is a great travel survey wiki that you should explore.  The On-Line Travel Survey Manual (http://www.travelsurveymanual.org/) was developed and is maintained by the TRB Travel Survey Methods Committee.  This wiki was built on the National Cooperative Highway Research Program’s (NCHRP’s) Report 571, Standardized Procedures for Personal Travel Surveys, and its technical appendix (titled Standardized Procedures for Personal Travel Surveys, authored by Peter Stopher and teammates) and the Federal Highway Administration’s (FHWA’s) 1996 Travel Survey Manual (authored by Kevin Tierney and teammates).  Additional content has been added by transportation professionals from across the world.
