Model Application

The Travel Forecasting Resource is organized around four major categories related to travel forecasting.  The Model Application section includes examples of using travel models to make transportation related decisions.  We expect this section will eventually be the most extensive as travel forecasts are used in many different ways and by many different agencies.  Models are used in determining air quality conformity and evaluating pricing strategies to better manage demand for transportation capacity.  They are used in evaluating the benefits of large transit investments and in considering the interaction between land use and transportation plans.  The Model Application section includes research and practitioner case studies in a variety of traditional and advanced travel forecasting applications.
